Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care under the supervision of person(s) licensed by a State regulatory board to prescribe medication and treatment, or under the direction of a Registered Professional Nurse (RN) . Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.Position Details:Premium Night Shift Sign On Bonus:Graduate LPN $3,000Experienced LPN $4,000Cardiac Med Intermediate LPN-Weekender24 hours per week, NightsMercy Hospital JeffersonFestus, MO 63028

We are also known as the Progressive Care Unit or PCU. Our unit is an intermediate unit that is a step down from our intensive care but a step above med/surg as far as patient acuity

Cardiac, Respiratory distress, Septic.

No vents. - Mainly serve cardiac patients, also acute respiratory (no vents/but high flow ) 02 needs/new bipap, etc. then mix of any other disease process in which the physicians determine patient is too sick for floor; but not yet ICU level of care.

Fast paced unit combining aspects of ED and ICU into one department--busyness of ED & critical care aspect of ICU.

Requires and builds strong assessment skills and teamwork

Qualifications:

  • Required Education: Practical Nursing Degree from an accredited school
  • License: current LPN license in our state or can be obtained within 90 days 
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association, IV Certification within 1 year.
