Description:

JOB PURPOSE


To recruit students via communication from the Admissions call center, travel, and connecting with prospects on campus during tours and other events.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS


Call Center

  • Work with the part-time Admissions Representatives in the Admissions call center to contact all prospects, applicants, and admitted students, helping them toward enrollment.
  • Develop intentional and creative ways to build relationships with prospective students from the beginning to the end of the process.

Travel

  • Recruit at Midwestern Seminary and Spurgeon College sponsored events approximately 2 times per month.
  • Attend and recruit at major conferences such as the Southern Baptist Convention, The Gospel Coalition Conference, and the Cross Conference.

Assist with General Admissions Tasks

  • Support the Admissions team during events such as Preview Day and conferences.
  • Help plan and execute key Admissions projects.
Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS


Including, but not limited to:

  • Christian with high integrity, actively pursuing a relationship with God
  • Preferred education: obtained or working to obtain a bachelor’s degree
  • Part-time or full-time experience in higher education, customer service, sales, and/or an office setting
  • Intermediate to expert skill with Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Able to multi-task, analyze workload, and prioritize as necessary for the benefit of the department
  • Able to take the initiative to complete the duties of the position without the need of direct supervision
  • Able to learn and utilize new skills and information to improve job performance and efficiency
  • Must be able to work independently, as well as a part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Must possess a positive attitude
  • Able to show a desire and willingness to learn
  • Must be able to pass background screening, including driving record
  • Eligible to work in the United States

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Monday through Friday, 8 am to 4:30 pm
  • Travel as needed to conferences and events during a variety of days and times
  • Shared office environment

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Moving boxes of recruiting materials, financial aid files, etc. (approx.. 10 lbs) and recruiting cases (approx.. 40 lbs and on wheels)
  • Walking around campus for approx. 3 hours at a time
  • Constructing booth spaces at recruiting events
