Job description

Position Summary

ANSER is seeking a Test Engineer to support the testing, evaluation, and fielding of biometric hardware and software systems for DoD mission environments. In this role, you will develop and execute comprehensive test procedures across functional, performance, regression, and integration testing activities in both simulated and operational environments. You will analyze test results, identify system defects and performance issues, and provide detailed reporting to support government milestone reviews and operational decisions. You will also coordinate with developmental and operational test organizations to support system fielding, test planning, and evaluation activities for mission-critical biometric capabilities.

This is a part-time position (average 20 hours a week)

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and execute test procedures for biometric hardware and software systems.
  • Conduct functional, performance, regression, and integration testing in laboratory and operational environments.
  • Write detailed test plans including schedules, resources, test devices, environments, scenarios, scripts, and stimulation requirements.
  • Coordinate with developmental and operational test personnel on testing schedules, planning, and requirements.
  • Analyze test results to identify software defects, hardware malfunctions, and system performance issues.
  • Document test findings and prepare detailed test reports supporting government milestone reviews and decision-making activities.
  • Provide technical support during the fielding of new biometric systems to operational units.
  • Support troubleshooting and resolution of system issues identified during testing and evaluation activities.
  • Collaborate with engineering, cybersecurity, and field support teams to ensure systems meet operational and technical requirements.
  • Support continuous improvement of testing methodologies, processes, and evaluation standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Active Secret Clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of relevant experience in test and evaluation activities.
  • Experience supporting test and evaluation efforts within DoD environments.
  • Experience developing and executing test plans, procedures, scripts, and evaluation activities.
  • Experience analyzing system performance, identifying defects, and documenting technical findings.
  • Experience coordinating testing schedules, requirements, and planning activities across multiple stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with biometric systems and biometric collection technologies.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, technical writing, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to support technical briefings and milestone reviews.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting DoD biometric programs or interagency biometric stakeholders.
  • Hands-on experience with biometric collection devices including fingerprint, iris, facial, and voice recognition systems.
  • Experience supporting operational field testing in tactical or deployed environments.
  • Familiarity with automated testing tools, test management platforms, and data analysis tools.
  • Experience supporting milestone reviews, acquisition programs, or operational readiness evaluations.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity testing and secure system validation processes.
