SUMMARY:

SMI Properties is seeking a reliable and motivated Part-Time Fleet Technician to join our team. You'll help maintain and prepare one of the nation's largest rental golf cart fleets, supporting premier motorsports venues and major events across the country. This hands-on position is ideal for someone who enjoys mechanical work, takes pride in quality workmanship, and wants a flexible part-time schedule. The ideal candidate is a dependable self-starter who enjoys solving mechanical challenges and is committed to maintaining safe, reliable equipment.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Perform diagnostics, preventative maintenance, repairs, and routine service on golf cart fleet.
  • Maintain accurate service documentation.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe service shop environment.
  • Safely load, secure, and unload golf carts from trailers.
  • Safely operate equipment including golf carts, pressure washers, generators, and other shop equipment.
  • Follow all company safety procedures, manufacturer guidelines, and established service standards.
  • Support department operations, local rental activities, and special projects as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 18+ years of age as required for driving company equipment.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Mechanical aptitude; experience repairing small engines, powersports equipment, golf carts, automotive, or similar equipment preferred.
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools and basic electrical troubleshooting.
  • Basic skills for utilizing computers, tablets, and web-based applications.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team.
  • Dependable with a strong work ethic and positive attitude.
  • Willingness to continually learn new technologies, and service procedures.
  • Knowledge of shop safety practices and safe equipment operation.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to frequently lift, push, pull, and maneuver equipment weighing up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to work in a shop environment with exposure to noise, dust, grease, and varying temperatures.
  • Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment safely.
