Job description

Wage Range: $15.00-$20.00

JOB SUMMARY
Assists the Golf Professional with golf shop operations, including player tracking, merchandising, tournaments, and special events. This is a seasonal position working approximately 6-8 months per year.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  1. Ensures customer satisfaction through prompt, efficient, and friendly service.
  2. Demonstrates prompt, professional, and attentive guest service at all times. Provides informative, knowledgeable assistance to ensure guest satisfaction.
  3. Processes golfers with scheduled tee times, provides course information, and promotes play.
  4. Provides Pro Shop guests with golf play information and assistance, and processes purchases and payments.
  5. Serves as course Marshall monitors the schedule and pace of play.
  6. Keeps Golf Pro advised of any operational issues or concerns.
  7. Assists in scheduling, organizing, and coordinating tournaments, leagues, and special golf events.
  8. Keeps supplies organized and stocked, including carts, rental equipment, and restrooms.
  9. Provides assistance and training for seasonal, part-time, and summer youth employees.
  10. May be required to open and close Golf Shop without supervision, requiring early and late shift work.
  11. Will be required to work weekends, holidays, and varied, long hours during the prime golf season.
  12. Must be able to enforce golf course rules and regulations.
  13. Works at times as a driving range or cart attendant as required during rush/peak periods/events.
  14. Keeps the Golf Shop neat and clean, inside and outside, as well as restocked with merchandise.
  15. Complies with regulatory laws, employee handbook, department policy and procedures, safety codes, etc.
  16. Promotes a clean, safe, and healthy work environment for employees and guests. Promptly reports all concerns to the supervisor.
  17. Ensures that the operation of equipment, tools, and materials are handled safely.
  18. Promotes internal guest service standards through courteous and respectful behavior.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Familiarity with golf activities, preferably with personal golfing experience.
  2. Must be courteous, personable, and professional in relating with customers.
  3. High School Diploma or GED.
  4. Cash handling skills.
  5. Must demonstrate effective communication skills, both oral and written.
  6. Flexible to work various shifts and weekends. Must be reliable.
  7. Needs to stand and/or walk for long periods; performs repetitive motions with wrists, hands, and fingers; lifts and maneuvers 50lbs.
  8. Requires a criminal history background check.
  9. Must be at least 18 years of age.
