JOB SUMMARY

The Golf Cart Mechanic contributes to Sanctuary Camelback Mountain's success by performing preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on the resort's fleet of gas and electric golf carts, utility vehicles, and related equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation. This role helps maintain the resort's luxury standards by minimizing equipment downtime, supporting daily operations, and ensuring vehicles are maintained in excellent working conditions.

JOB FUNCTIONS

Note: the following duties and responsibilities are not all-inclusive

  • Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled service on golf carts, utility vehicles, and grounds equipment to maximize performance and equipment longevity.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and battery-powered systems using appropriate diagnostic tools and manufacturer specifications.
  • Respond promptly to emergency and unscheduled equipment repairs to minimize operational downtime.
  • Conduct routine safety inspections of all golf carts, utility vehicles, and equipment, ensuring compliance with resort and safety standards.
  • Complete equipment overhauls, adjustments, and repairs as necessary to maintain reliable operation.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals, schematics, technical documents, and work orders to perform maintenance and repairs accurately.
  • Maintain detailed preventative maintenance schedules, repair logs, inspection records, and service documentation.
  • Prepare parts requisitions, maintain inventory of repair supplies, and coordinate with approved vendors to obtain parts and equipment.
  • Maintain an organized, clean, and safe workshop while ensuring proper storage of tools, equipment, and materials.
  • Follow all OSHA regulations, resort safety policies, and Hazard Communication Program procedures, including proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials using Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
  • Respond to engineering work orders and assist with maintenance requests throughout guest, public, and back-of-house areas as assigned by Engineering leadership.
  • Support the Engineering team with additional maintenance projects and departmental initiatives as needed.
  • Promote a safe working environment by identifying and reporting unsafe conditions, equipment concerns, or potential hazards.
  • Consistently demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, and a guest-focused attitude while supporting fellow team members and resort operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:

JOB REQUIREMENTS

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he/she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.

  • Experience maintaining and repairing golf carts, utility vehicles, small engines, or similar equipment preferred.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and battery-powered systems.
  • Ability to diagnose equipment issues and perform repairs efficiently and accurately.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, equipment specifications, and service documentation.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and parts inventory.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple assignments, respond to changing operational needs, and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Basic computer skills preferred for work order management, maintenance tracking, and documentation.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record preferred.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills while building positive relationships with fellow team members, leaders, vendors, and guests.
  • Maintain the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, accountability, and ethical conduct.
  • Exercise sound judgment while protecting resort assets and ensuring the safe operation of all equipment.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following all OSHA regulations, resort safety policies, and Hazard Communication procedures.
  • Accurately record work time and comply with all attendance, scheduling, appearance, and timekeeping standards.
  • Demonstrate flexibility by working mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and emergency call-ins as business needs require.
  • Participate in emergency response procedures in accordance with resort policies and departmental standards.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Ability to frequently bend, kneel, squat, crawl, reach overhead, and work in confined spaces.
  • Ability to climb ladders and work at heights of up to approximately 30 feet when necessary.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the resort for extended periods during the workday.
  • Ability to safely operate tools, diagnostic equipment, and repair machinery requiring manual dexterity.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and wet environments.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • High School Diploma/G.E.D. Equivalent

Related Work Experience

  • Three to four (3-4) years related work experience. 
  • One year minimum experience in golf cart repair. 
  • Experience in a resort is preferred.
