FIS AGENT
As a leading airport logistics service provider, we are seeking a highly motivated and energetic team member focused on delivering quality customer service. This position is a flexible, part-time hourly position that pays minimum 4 hour shifts, even if there is only 45 minutes to 1 hour of actual work needed.
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY:
Federal Inspection Station (FIS) Agent:
  • The FIS Agent provides customer service to arriving international passengers. Every day you will be assigned one of the following positions:
    • Gates: Responsible for communicating the arrival of each international flight to BNA leads. Communicate flight number, arrival time, gate and carousel used. Gate agent is also responsible to set the sterile corridor to "International" mode when the flight arrives, and to "Domestic" mode once all passengers and crew members deplane. Monitors the sterile corridor for security breaches, and immediately communicates discrepancies to the lead, BAGS Supervisor and BNA Supervisor. Once everyone deplanes and the sterile corridor has been set back to domestic mode, proceed to the gate for next flight.
    • Carousels: Assist with the delivery of bags into the baggage control area of FIS. Move, arrange, and adjust baggage on the assigned carousel to accommodate additional bags. In case of contingencies, safely move baggage to the next working belt as directed by BNA supervisor.
  • The FIS Agent works with U.S Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Officers on the Airside.
  • Perform other work related duties as requested or required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of a FIS Agent, the employee is regularly required to sit; stand; walk; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and work in a fast paced environment. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 90 pounds or more. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close proximity vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Good hand/eye coordination is required.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  • High School Diploma
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Able to communicate in English fluently
  • Bilingual preferred
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including nights/holidays and weekends
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to frequently and steadily lift baggage at 90 pounds or above
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office products
  • Must be self-motivated and willing to learn
  • Customer service driven
  • Must be comfortable and capable of working safely around industrial equipment
  • Ability to pass criminal background check to be badged in secure areas of an airport

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Providing customer service to MCO passengers.
  • Assist with TSA lines, such as collecting the empty bins at the end of the line and moving them to the front of the line to be reused again.
  • Assist with TSA liquid disposal.
  • Wear your provided gloves while handling bins and liquids.
