How much do part time garbage truck jobs pay per hour?

As of Jul 7, 2026, the average hourly pay for part time garbage truck in the United States is $19.45, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $15.87 and $23.08 per hour, depending on experience, location, and employer.

Can a truck driver make $5000 a week?

Part-time garbage truck drivers typically do not earn $5000 a week, as their pay is usually based on hourly rates or route-based pay, which generally results in lower weekly earnings. Achieving such a high income would require full-time hours, overtime, or additional responsibilities, which are less common in part-time roles. Most part-time positions in waste collection pay significantly less than that amount weekly.

Can I make money with a garbage truck?

A part-time garbage truck driver can earn income through hourly wages or per-route pay, depending on the employer. The job involves operating large trucks, often requiring a commercial driver's license (CDL), and may include overtime or weekend shifts to increase earnings.

What is the difference between Part Time Garbage Truck vs Part Time Recycling Truck?

Your choice depends on your interest in waste management or recycling services.

What company in Texas is paying truckers $14000 a week?

Part time garbage truck roles typically do not pay $14,000 per week; such high earnings are uncommon for part-time positions. Most garbage collection jobs offer hourly wages or salaries that are significantly lower, even with overtime. High-paying trucking jobs usually involve long-haul or specialized freight, not part-time waste collection roles.

How many hours a week do garbage drivers work?

Garbage truck drivers typically work full-time hours, averaging around 40 hours per week, often including early mornings and weekends. Part-time positions may involve fewer hours, usually between 20 and 30 hours weekly, depending on the employer and route demands.
