Job description

Description
The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin will fill faculty positions as needed, at the rank of Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Distinguished Senior Lecturer, Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Instruction, or Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Practice, to teach courses within the undergraduate and graduate Electrical and Computer engineering curriculum. Full and part-time positions may become available, contingent upon curriculum needs, student enrollment and the availability of funding. These positions may not be available every year and appointments may be made on a semester-by-semester basis, but priority is given to full-time professional-track faculty on longer-term contracts with the intent of making them a lasting part of our teaching community. Positions are annually renewable, contingent on funding and performance. Salary is dependent on position and qualifications.
Qualifications
A PhD in engineering or a related field is required, but exceptions can be made for applicants with a Master's degree and pertinent expertise and work experience. Previous teaching and/or training experience is preferred. Industry work experience is considered an advantage. Applicants will need expertise and desire to teach in various areas of Electrical and Computer Engineering. Current teaching opportunities specifically exist in programming, software engineering and software systems, embedded systems, computer engineering and computer system design. We are also looking for professional-track faculty to teach engineering communication, senior design capstone projects as well as entrepreneurial activities. Successful candidates are expected to teach our diverse undergraduate and graduate student populations.
