Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Department: Engineering / Maintenance
Reports To: Chief Engineer / Maintenance Supervisor / Hotel Manager
Job Type: Full-Time or Part-Time
Location: Hamilton Inn - Bessemer, AL
Job Summary:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the repair, upkeep, and preventive maintenance of the hotel's guest rooms, public areas, equipment, and systems. This role ensures that all hotel facilities operate safely, efficiently, and in accordance with hotel standards and local codes. The ideal candidate is skilled in general maintenance, troubleshooting, and has a strong attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and general repairs.
  • Conduct daily inspections of hotel facilities and systems to identify maintenance needs or safety hazards.
  • Respond promptly to guest room or public area service calls and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Complete preventive maintenance on equipment, guest rooms, and building systems according to schedule.
  • Maintain records of work completed, parts used, and time spent using maintenance management systems.
  • Assist with projects such as renovations, installations, and seasonal maintenance.
  • Monitor and maintain supply inventory; report shortages to supervisor.
  • Ensure all tools, equipment, and work areas are clean, safe, and in good condition.
  • Follow safety procedures and hotel policies, including use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Coordinate with housekeeping, front desk, and other departments to minimize guest disruption.
