Position Overview
The Part-Time Instructor for Generative AI & AI Productivity Tools plays a key role in delivering engaging and practical learning experiences to adult learners enrolled in our online programs.
Instructors facilitate curriculum content, support student learning, and connect AI-assisted workflows to real-world productivity, development, and automation use cases. This role involves teaching live online sessions, mentoring learners, providing feedback, and contributing to a collaborative instructional environment.
Classes are delivered 100% online in a synchronous format.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver live online training sessions on Generative AI tools, AI-assisted workflows, and automation concepts.
Cover key topics including:
  • Practical use of AI assistants for research, documentation, and structured prompting
  • AI-assisted coding and developer productivity workflows
  • Repository navigation, debugging, and Git/GitHub workflows using AI tools
  • Prompt engineering fundamentals and AI interaction strategies
  • Building assistant-style automations across messaging, files, email/calendar, and APIs
  • AI-assisted UI planning and Figma workflows
  • Frontend basics including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and React concepts
  • Setup and configuration of developer tools and AI environments
  • CLI workflows, environment configuration, and deployment basics
  • Safe usage of API keys, permissions, verification, and cost management

Create structured workshop content including:
  • Lab guides
  • Hands-on activities
  • Practice exercises
  • Prompts and workflow templates

Provide live demos, guided practice sessions, and hands-on learner support.
Support learners with setup, CLI, configuration, deployment, and environment-related issues.
Mentor learners and resolve technical or conceptual queries.
Conduct assessments, evaluations, or mock sessions when required.
Maintain session quality metrics and learner engagement.
Collaborate with internal teams on curriculum updates, delivery planning, and learner feedback.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Design, or related field
  • 10+ years of professional experience in software engineering, AI automation, developer productivity, or technical training
  • Hands-on experience with AI assistants such as Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, or similar tools
  • Working familiarity with AI coding tools including:
    • Claude Code
    • OpenClaw
    • Cursor
    • GitHub Copilot
    • Codex
    • Similar AI coding agents
  • Strong comfort with CLI tools, VS Code, Git/GitHub, APIs, and JSON/YAML/Markdown workflows
  • Ability to build simple AI-powered workflows using tools, files, APIs, and integrations
  • Familiarity with frontend concepts including Figma, HTML, CSS, JavaScript/React, and responsive UI principles
  • Comfort with Linux/VPS setup, SSH, environment variables, and deployment workflows
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills
  • Ability to simplify technical concepts into practical, outcome-focused learning experiences

Work Schedule
Part-Time instructors typically work 10-15 hours per week depending on cohort schedules.
The total weekly part-time commitment is expected to be 8-12 hours.
Weekday - 06:30 PM CST - 09:30 PM CST (Monday, Wednesday and Thursday)
Weekend - 09:00 AM CST - 12:00 PM CST (Saturday and Sunday)
Flexibility for evening availability is required.
Compensation
The anticipated pay range for this position is $55 - $60 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
This position is classified as Part-Time, Non-Exempt, and employees will be compensated for all hours worked in accordance with applicable federal and state wage and hour laws.
