Position Summary:
The A-State Office of Admissions is hiring student workers to join our front desk support team. This is a great opportunity to gain office experience, perform administrative duties, and assist with in-office operations while helping deliver an outstanding experience to prospective Red Wolves. Students will be hired primarily for the front desk but will also assist with back-of-house operations.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Admissions Front Desk: 60%
Job duties include greeting students, faculty, staff, and visitors at the front desk, answering incoming phone calls and directing them to the appropriate person, as well as helping with office management projects. Strong customer service skills are needed for our front desk as we are the central office prospective students come to with questions with their applications.
Admissions Mail Center: 40%
Job duties include preparing Welcome Boxes, inventory management of Admissions publications, maintaining a clean and organized mail room, assisting with CRM management, assisting with promotion disbursement, and other duties as assigned.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
• Strong customer service is required
• Reliable attendance, organized, and detail-oriented
• Comfortable working independently or in a small team
• Able to lift light to moderate boxes (promotional items, print materials, etc.)
• Open to learning new tasks and contributing to office-wide efforts
• Friendly and professional when representing the Admissions team
General Days/Hours:
Must be able to work on campus during regular office hours (Monday - Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm). Preferred availability 10:00am-3:00pm.
