Job description

Position Summary: Mount Mary University invites applications for a part-time Adjunct Instructor of French to teach Traveler's French. The successful candidate will be able to teach one evening section of the course, which will be taken by fashion majors in preparation for a later trip Paris. Adjunct faculty are expected to provide high-quality instruction, maintain regular communication with students, assess student learning effectively, and collaborate with department faculty and university staff to support student success and the mission of Mount Mary University.

Primary Responsibilities:

ยท Provide high-quality instruction to students

ยท Effectively assess student learning

ยท Maintain regular communication with students using both email and Mount Mary University's LMS

ยท Collaborate with department faculty to support student success and the mission of Mount Mary University

ยท Participate in group assessment for the composition program

Skills and Experience:

ยท Familiarity with current French language pedagogy and student-centered pedagogy

ยท Experience working with students from a wide range of backgrounds, including first-generation college students, multilingual learners, and students from historically underrepresented communities

ยท Demonstrated commitment to promoting inclusiveness and cultural competence

ยท Experience and understanding of current issues and developments in higher education

ยท Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Qualifications:

ยท To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each primary duties satisfactorily.
