Savannah State University established in 1890, is the first public historically black college or university in the state of Georgia and the first institution of higher learning in the city of Savannah. The university's students select majors from five colleges:

Job Summary
The College of Science and Humanities at Savannah State University is seeking part-time faculty applications for 2026-2027 academic year to teach day, evening or weekend classes.
Subjects include:
- Astronomy
- Introductory Biology
- Introductory Chemistry
- English, Languages, and Cultures
- Political Science and Public Administration
- Environmental Science
- Forensic Science
- Integrated Science
- Marine Science
- History
- Criminal Justice
- Social Work
Responsibilities
- Plan, organize and communicate instruction in ways that encourage and stimulate student learning
- Employ appropriate teaching and learning strategies that facilitate and promote student success
- Prepare, distribute and submit syllabi for all assigned sections in accordance with college and university policies
- Evaluate and return student work in a timely manner and maintain accurate records of student attendance and progress
- Submit immediate alerts in EAB when students are at risk
- Submit mid-term and final grade reports by the set University deadlines as well as completed course assessment forms at the end of each semester
- Maintain professional ism and confidentiality in regards to student interaction and information
- Comply with all university academic policies
- Master's degree with 18 credit hours in one of the aforementioned subject areas.
- Prior teaching experience is preferred.
