The Opportunity:
As an analytics professional, you love diving into data and turning it into meaningful insights. With the abundance of structured and unstructured data, you understand the importance of transforming complex data sets into useful information to solve challenges. As a data analyst at Booz Allen, you can use your skills to support a mission and use data for good. We need a data analyst like you to bring your knowledge to empower citizens to understand data and improve veterans' experiences.
As a client-facing data analyst on our Health, National Security, and Strategic Innovation team, you'll work closely with your clients to understand their questions and needs and then dig into their data-rich environments to help find the pieces of their information puzzle. Not only will you extract and evaluate their data, you'll also help your client interpret the information and recommend how it can be used to make an impact, such as helping government entities detect fraud and optimizing government technologies.
How You'll Contribute:
As a data analyst on our team, you'll:
  • Use your technical knowledge to support client and stakeholder relationships in industry and mission area.
  • Research, develop, and test data methodologies, and generate cross-functional solutions through collection, interpretation, evaluation, and analysis of large data sets.
  • Contribute to impactful work and guide decision-making across multiple organizations.
  • Apply your communication skills and analytical mindset by simplifying technical requirements and trends, based on audience.
  • Present data findings and recommendations to clients and stakeholders using your knowledge of databases, scripting languages such as SQL, Python, or R and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Establish quantitative and qualitative metrics and key performance indicators to drive technical outcomes.
  • Apply data visualization through different formats such as graphs, tables, and PowerPoint slides.
  • Grow your communication and technical skills by creating data-centric solutions across mission area, customer industry

You Have:
  • 2+ years of experience collecting, processing, analyzing, and visualizing data from enterprise-level data sources
  • Experience designing, developing, and maintaining interactive dashboards and data visualizations using tools such as Power BI or Tableau
  • Experience analyzing both structured and unstructured data to identify trends, develop key performance metrics, and support operational and business performance monitoring
  • Experience preparing data for analysis by cleaning, transforming, aggregating, validating, and labeling datasets
  • Experience with data mining, data quality management, data cleansing, statistical analysis, and stakeholder engagement using tools such as Microsoft Excel and Python
  • Ability to produce recurring and ad hoc reports, communicate analytical findings, and develop data-driven visualizations and presentations for stakeholders
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree

  • Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Experience with basic scripting or automation tools
  • Experience supporting digital transformation, analytics, or data-driven initiatives

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $62,000.00 to $141,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
