Newington Public Schools is accepting applications for part-time substitute and permanent part-time employees working in our school kitchens.  Starting salaries are $18.04/hour for substitutes, $19.87/hour for elementary part-time employees and $18.49/hour for middle & high part-time employees.  Tasks include food prep, serving/cashiering and clean-up.  All new hires will begin at the substitute rate of $18.04/hour and if a permanent position is desired, once fully trained and a suitable permanent position has been determined, your pay rate would increase depending on the location.
This is a great job for individuals with school-age kids.  This is a 10 month (summers off), Monday through Friday position with nights, weekends, holidays and school vacations off.  The hours are 3.75 hours per day (typically between 10:00 1:45 p.m.).  Good communication skills, the ability to work independently in a fast-paced team environment, and lift up to 50 lbs. are required.  Employees are eligible for a $100 uniform allowance and a yearly bonus based on hours worked as well as Connecticut Paid Sick Leave time.  There are no medical benefits and you must pass a criminal background check.  Kitchen experience preferred but not required.  Immediate positions available!  Fun place to work!
