Description
Q.U.E.S.T. is a full-time, 10-week summer program designed to expand access for historically underrepresented and under-resourced undergraduates who are dedicated to interrogating systems of power, addressing structural inequities impacting Communities of Color and marginalized identities, and developing evidence-based strategies for systemic change.
Q.U.E.S.T. Research Coordinator - The Q.U.E.S.T. Research Coordinator plays a vital role in guiding the research curriculum throughout the summer and directly supporting the development of underrepresented students committed to systemic change.
Duties:
  • The job duties for this position are highly local and require on-site attendance for June and July.
  • Facilitate a 1-hour weekly check-in meeting with Q.U.E.S.T. students
  • Meet with Q.U.E.S.T. participants individually and with mentors to work on research papers and presentations for conferences
  • Organizing and presiding over the AP Dept Quest presentation day
  • Lead QUEST online-writing bootcamp in August
  • Leads program evaluation efforts

The Associate Research Scientist will supervise the Summer Program Assistant.
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the hourly salary range for this position is $28-$38. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer.
Qualifications
  • Relevant experience in mentoring and managing "student-affairs programming" demonstrates your ability to make a meaningful difference in students' lives, which can inspire candidates to see their potential impact.
  • Detail-oriented and demonstrate logistical and administrative skills
  • Possess superb people skills and a sense of humor, be a creative problem-solver, and have sound judgment and emotional maturity
  • Be willing to hold students, faculty, and volunteers to a high standard of excellence and professionalism
  • Completed at least one year of a PhD program in the applied sciences
