Overview:

Duties:

  • 7am-11am Monday - Thursday (16 hours a week) MA at Mercy Clinic at Work - Worldwide Technology, Maryland Heights supporting front office and back-office duties with an MD, MA, and RN that is on-site 5 days per week. This clinic sees employees, spouses, and dependents only. Primary Care / Urgent Care hybrid
  • The day will consist of but not limited to:
    • Attending Worldwide Technology health fairs to represent Mercy and provide BP readings, flu shot clinics, and other events where medical support is needed
    • Supporting Annual Wellness Screening campaign for Worldwide Technology by assisting with taking vitals and screening employees
    • EPIC charting, referral coordination, and data entry after events
    • Assists with any needed in-office testing including, but not limited to, drawing blood, completing mental status exams, EKG's, walking oxygen studies and point of care testing.
    • Triage/Inbaskets - Follow-up of results, my mercy messages and refills
    • Prepares patient for visit with provider by completing Advanced Standard room process including:

Entering the chief complaint, taking patient vital signs; reviewing patient history and allergies, completing a thorough medication reconciliation, Working the Encounter Guide including helping to close any open care gaps such as fall risk, depression screening, breast cancer screening, colorectal cancer screening, and diabetic eye exam, Rechecking elevated blood pressures

  • Administer vaccines and other injections within scope of practice.
  • Check in; Retrieves insurance and patient information, provides forms for tests or interoffice communications and secures signatures as needed. Enter new and established patient information into the computer. Answers incoming calls, sets appointments for patients, dispatches messages and/or calls for all employees. Monitors and revises physician schedules as appropriate.
  • Requirements
    • RMA preferred but not required
    • Proficient in EPIC registration, scheduling, patient data entry (preferred)
  • Other Information
    • Highly professional and energetic as the face of Mercy at each employer clinic
    • Willing to be flexible in schedule and travel to the WWT clinic in IL, located in Edwardsville, IL for events and/or if coverage is needed there (rare)

  • Collaborates with providers and clinical care team to monitor and coordinate delivery of the care plan.

Primary Care Assistant - Medical Assistant:

Education: High School Diploma or GED.

Certification: Must obtain BLS certification within 90 days of hire.

Preferred Experience: 6 months of clinical healthcare experience, preferably in a primary care office.

Primary Care - Certified Medical Assistant:

Education: High School Diploma or GED.

Certification: Must have active Medical Assistant certification/registration (RMA, CCMA, CMA). Must obtain BLS certification within 90 days of hire.

LPN Qualifications:

Education: Diploma in Practical Nursing

Licensure: Active LPN licensure

Preferred Experience: 6 months clinical healthcare experience, preferably in a primary care office
