deciBel Research has an immediate opening for a Kinematics Jr System Engineer in Colorado Springs, Co.Position Description:deciBel Research is seeking a junior level System Engineer to develop kinematic missile models for the Missile Defense Agency's (MDA's) Threat Modeling Center (TMC) at Schriever Space Force Base in Colorado Springs.Responsibilities Include:Developing ballistic and advanced/hypersonic kinematic threat models for use in a variety of modeling and simulation tools/frameworks/mediaApplying standard engineering and mathematical algorithms to ensure the accurate portrayal of expected missile or space launch vehicle behavioral characteristics during all phases of powered and un-powered flightHaving a good understanding of modeling and simulation methods and processesResearching, interpreting, and verifying parameters required to build, replicate, and propagate missile or space launch vehicle trajectories including, but not limited to, staging debris, countermeasures, and payload traitsAuthoring highly technical Verification and Validation (V&V) documentsWorking with little to no direct supervision, work as an integral member of a productTarget salary range: $75,000 - $130,000.
