Job Description
The Community Development Technician is a non-exempt position responsible for office support providing a variety of administrative, support, research, and clerical activities. The Community Development technician is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service through telephone, email, computer software programs, and in-person interactions. This position performs a wide variety of tasks and projects as assigned, often using initiative and available resources to resolve questions.
Budgeted hiring wage range = $24.74 - $30.92
Full wage range* = Min: $24.74 Mid: $30.92 Max: $37.11

Responsibilities
Essential Functions
  • Utilizes multiple software platforms to research, document, and communicate inside the organization and with external stakeholders.
  • Run reports for the website, weekly meetings, Council Reports, and year-end summaries.
  • Assist with oversight and improvement of internal systems including information management and upkeep of application forms, files, and databases/application logs.
  • Assists Planners with assembling Planning Commission meeting packets and distribution of agenda and packet materials while also being responsible for recording minutes of public meetings.
  • Posts Planning Commission agenda, minutes, and other Community Development documents to the website.
  • Provides customer service to the public in the office, over the phone, and in the field, acting as a public ambassador at all times. Fills in at the front desk to answer phone, greet visitors, and take messages when needed.
  • Perform duties such as photocopying, scanning, data entry, digital archiving, and filing for the Community Development department.

Marginal Duties
  • Create documents as directed including reports, memos and correspondence. May assist in the creation of presentation materials.
  • Upon request, may handle special projects requiring research. Presents findings, makes recommendations and assist with the implementation once approved.
  • Assists the Town with management of Town of Frisco-owned rental properties through HOA and realtor coordination.
  • Prepares public legal notices for planning applications (postcards, posters, notices) and coordinates required documents from applicants to post and provide affidavits.

Other Essential Responsibilities:
  • This position requires regular and reliable in-person attendance at the designated worksite as an essential function of the job. As a public servant, physical presence is necessary to effectively perform essential duties, support operational needs, collaborate with team members, provide direct service to the public and internal stakeholders, utilize on-site equipment and resources, and maintain effective communication, responsiveness, and accountability in serving the community.
  • Adheres to Town of Frisco policies, mission, vision, values, competencies, standards, and regulations including but not limited to proper attire, safety procedures, and overall professionalism.
  • Attends Town and departmental training and meetings as appropriate or assigned.
  • Ability to function and make good decisions in the absence of a supervisor.
  • Communicates with Town of Frisco employees, citizens, customers and vendors in a professional, courteous and timely manner both verbally and in writing.
  • Performs other job duties/responsibilities as assigned by management.
  • Employees are held accountable for all duties of this job, demonstrates accountability for work, and takes ownership in job performance.
