Summary:

The Pediatric Dietitianserves as an expert in current medical nutrition therapy and works as part of an interdisciplinary team within Cook Children's Medical Center (CCMC) in Prosper. This position will act as a float to provide coverage during daytime hours Mon-Fri to staff on vacation, leave etc. Will work with patients (birth - 18 years old) to provide nutrition intervention and education based on the goals, preferences, learning barriers, and readiness of the patient, family/caregivers, and staff. Provides professional guidance to in/outpatients, staff, outside agencies, students, and the community while maintaining patient confidentiality and honoring patient rights. Develops, verifies, and revises nutritional therapies to improve care and outcomes for patients and help CCMC achieve its goals and objectives.

Hours: This position will work daytime hours to provide coverage for staff on vacation, leave etc. Normally 1 or more 8-hour shift per week. Hours will be Mon-Fri First shift. Opportunity to work more hours if interested.


Education, Experience, Licensure & Certification:

  • Bachelor's degree in nutrition, dietetics, or related field required.

  • Note: Effective January 1, 2024, all newly hired Registered Dietitians must meet the national requirement of holding a master's degree in nutrition, dietetics, or a related field to be eligible for credentialing and employment.

  • Meets the current RD/RDN entry standards.

  • Pediatric experience preferred.

  • RD/RDN (Registered Dietitian/Registered Dietitian Nutritionist) credential issued by the Commission on Dietetic Registration required.

  • Licensed Dietitian (LD) in the State of Texas required.

  • CPR certification required.
