Description
Paramedic/Advanced EMT position is a part-time, seasonal position employed by Music & Event Management, Inc. (MEMI) with a flexible schedule and a variety of available hours from approximately May through the end of October. The Paramedic/Advanced EMT team performs emergency medical care to the sick and/or injured guests at our concerts and shows. Candidates will be responsible for performing tasks related to EMS operations and for routine tasks in the maintenance of EMS facilities and equipment.
Responsibilities:
  • Administers emergency medical care to patients as needed and or directed.
  • Administer Advanced Life Support and care to injured/sick individuals.
  • Examines patients using advanced diagnostic devices and techniques.
  • Takes and records vital signs as well as monitors patient condition.
  • Consults with medical professionals on treatment, and follows written medical treatment protocols issued.
  • Defibrillates, intubates, starts intravenous fluids, administers medications and performs additional procedures as required.
  • Provide continuum of care from MEMI grounds throughout transport to the hospital as required.
  • Perform advanced life support duties in the protection of life and property, often requiring physical movement among different levels of buildings and structures.
  • Communicates accurately and effectively with MEMI personnel, officers, government agencies, and the general public regarding EMS related incidents.
  • Prepare required incident and/or patient care reports as required or when directed.
  • Wear/carry required protective clothing and gear while performing EMS activities.
  • Stock medical supplies and clean the EMS facilities and equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements
  • Ohio Paramedic certification preferred.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Knowledge regarding the use of equipment for EMS related duties.
  • Knowledge of EMS methods, practices, and procedures, with the ability to apply knowledge or proper procedures to specific situations.
  • Ability to analyze situations and act quickly and efficiently.
  • Provide excellent customer service and guest relations for patients and patients' family and friends.
  • Ability to walk, stand and lift for duration of scheduled shift.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Work in a safe manner, observing all safety rules and pose no direct threat or injury to another.
  • Ability to work in a team while managing large numbers of patients and guests.
  • Flexibility to work at Riverbend Music Center, PNC Pavilion, Andrew J Brady Music Center and Taft Theatre .

Available Shifts:
  • Start times varies based on needs of shows, but usually in the afternoon or evenings.
  • Duration of shift varies upon the needs of the show, approximately 4 to 14 hours.
