Job Overview

We are seeking a Security Officer for our Safety Assessment site located in Reno, NV for weekend coverage: Saturday-Sunday, 6am - 6pm daily.

Job Summary

The Security Officer is responsible for safeguarding company personnel, property, assets, and facilities from theft, vandalism, unauthorized access, fire, and other potential hazards. This position supports a safe and secure work environment through access control, patrol operations, incident response, security monitoring, and the enforcement of company policies and procedures.

The Security Officer monitors and investigates security-related incidents, documents findings, and assists in maintaining compliance with organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and security standards. This role also supports emergency response activities and contributes to the protection of company resources, intellectual property, and operational continuity.

Job Qualifications
The following are the minimum qualifications required for the Security Officer position:

  • Education: High school diploma, General Education Degree (GED), or equivalent required. Associate degree preferred
  • Experience: Minimum of two (2) to three (3) years of professional work experience, including at least six (6) to twelve (12) months of related security experience and/or formal security training
  • Technical Skills: Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams. Ability to use computer-based systems for reporting, communication, and documentation
Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The following duties are representative of the responsibilities associated with the Security Officer position:

  • Control access to the facility by greeting, screening, and authorizing visitors, contractors, and employees in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • Monitor security, life-safety, and environmental systems and promptly investigate, document, and report incidents, alarms, or irregular activities
  • Identify and report unauthorized individuals, suspicious activities, or security concerns to the appropriate personnel and authorities while adhering to established safety protocols
  • Maintain the safety and security of company personnel, facilities, products, and assets through proactive observation, deterrence, and enforcement of company policies
  • Conduct routine patrols and inspections of buildings, grounds, and critical infrastructure to identify security, safety, or maintenance concerns
  • Monitor the operational status of security equipment, access control systems, surveillance systems, alarms, and other critical building systems
  • Complete detailed and accurate reports, logs, and documentation related to security activities, incidents, inspections, and investigations
  • Respond to alarms, emergencies, and incidents in a timely and professional manner and coordinate with emergency responders as required
  • Assist with basic troubleshooting and corrective actions for security and facility systems within the scope of training and assigned responsibilities
  • Serve as a communication resource for security-related matters during both business and non-business hours
  • Maintain proficiency in company security procedures, emergency response protocols, and applicable site-specific requirements
  • Utilize computer-based systems, including Microsoft Office applications and security management software, to document incidents, maintain records, and communicate effectively
  • Support emergency response efforts by providing information, coordinating resources, and assisting personnel during incidents and evacuations
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned


•    We are seeking an individual to work on the weekends but may be available to provide coverage for others during the week for vacations, sick leaves, call outs, etc.
