Essential Job Functions
  • Continually patrols buildings and grounds. Examines doors, windows, and gates to determine that they areĀ secure.
  • Warns violators of rule infractions and expels persons engaging in suspicious or criminal acts.
  • Observes equipment, machinery and reports tampering or misuse, records unusual occurrences.
  • Watches for and reports irregularities such as fire hazards, leaking water pipes and security doors left unlocked.
  • Regulates vehicle and pedestrian traffic to maintain orderly flow. Writes clear and concise accident.
  • Effectively handle nonguest and trespassers without interrupting the orderly flow of the business.
  • Make safety inspections of the entire property and report safety or policy violations to supervisor.
  • Ensure that all Security operations procedures are followed by the associates of the
  • Patrol the interior and the exterior of the hotel and surrounding
  • Conduct Security foot patrols, secure building, secure guest belongings and hotel equipment, patrol parking areas, respond to Security calls, disturbances, guest problems, emergency situations and criminal activity, in a calm, rational and assertive manner. Prepares reports: Accident, Theft or Incident.
  • Obtain current First Aid/CPR certificates and perform standard first aid when necessary.
  • Be familiar with all operations of the guest room security systems.
  • Be well versed in the property alarm system as well as the fire alarm system/fire control room.
  • Perform Security dispatch administrative duties such as: Maintain and update daily activity log on the computer, handle all incoming phone calls, take messages and relay them to the appropriate persons; dispatch officers to locations when they are needed.
  • Maintain proper key control; Ensure proper signs in and out of all hard and soft keys; Document all key related discrepancies and initiate reports if necessary.
