They share joint responsibility with pilots for the safety and operational control of flights, including tasks such as flight planning, weather analysis, and communicating with crew members during flights. Working part-time means they may work fewer hours per week or on a flexible schedule, but their responsibilities remain the same as those of full-time dispatchers. This role is critical for maintaining safe and efficient airline operations.

Effective time management and proactive communication are key to overcoming these challenges. Many dispatchers find it helpful to regularly review operational updates and participate in team briefings to stay informed and connected, even when working limited hours.
