Gundersen Health System (becoming Emplify Health) is seeking a part-time Invasive Cardiac Technologist! This is your opportunity to provide care to patients while doing what you love!
What you will do:
  • Assist the physician with diagnostic and therapeutic interventions of patients with heart disease.
  • Act as a patient advocate by assisting the physician and RN with procedures, assessment of patient status, and communication of information in a way that fosters individualized patient care in a cost-effective manner.
  • Demonstrates ability to monitor and assess the hemodynamic status of patients during diagnostic, therapeutic and emergency procedures by observing and recording accurately EKGs, wave forms, and oximetry, and reporting changes to physician and/or RN as they occur. Also generates reports in a timely fashion.
  • Assist staff in procedures to promote safety and quality radiographic imaging by positioning patient, table, and C-arm during diagnostic, therapeutic and emergency procedures to obtain both optimal imaging as well as maintaining lowest possible radiation dose.
  • Assists MD during diagnostic, therapeutic and emergency procedures by "scrubbing in" to promote skilled procedural practice and maintain sterile field for optimal quality and safe patient outcomes

What is available:
  • .75 (60 hours every 2 weeks)
  • 10-hour shifts, 3 times a week.
  • Shift: Monday - Friday, between 7am -5pm
  • Call rotation and a 30-minute response time is required of this position. Call is about 1-2 weeknights and 1 weekend in a 6-week period, along with 1-2 holidays a year. Call hours are Monday -Friday 5pm - 7am and 24 hours on weekends and Holidays.

What you need to be qualified for this position:
  • Cath lab and/or X-ray experience preferred!
  • Post High School education in a specialized field: Diploma or Associate level health science program completion in cardiovascular technology, ultrasound, radiologic technology, exercise physiology, paramedics or similar field.
  • 1 year of direct patient care experience in a healthcare related field
  • Current Infant-Adult Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers (with hands on learning) from one of the following programs; American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 3 months of hire
