Job Description Summary:

Current and valid License or Certification in Integrative Therapy, Reiki, Aromatherapy, Restorative/Slow Yoga, or equivalent. Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Science/Exercise Science or in a Healthcare Field. At least 3 years of relevant experience in Integrative Therapy, Reiki, Yoga, Meditation & Mindfulness, or equivalent. Experience as an Instructor, Health Coach, or Program Facilitator a plus.Position Responsibilities
  • Assesses patient's physical, emotional, and behavioral functioning and recommend appropriate therapeutic and individualized activities as appropriate and approved by the provider to meet patient's identified and reported needs.
  • Provides experiential and expressive therapeutic activities, i.e. slow and restorative yoga, reiki, aromatherapy for sress and anxiety relief, exercises for strengthening and pain relief, etc. per established guidelines and protocols of the cancer center.
  • Conducts individual and group sessions in collaboration with other integrative tehrapists, music therapy, and support services staff in alignment with departmen and cancer center program goals and standard requirements.
  • Works closely with the multidisciplinary team when patient referrals are made to have a better understanding of patient's needs, learning abilities, barriers to care, cultural beliefs, etc. to create a plan of care and goals of treatment.
  • Tailors assessment tools to identify and address unique risks or opportunities, and documents all findings and activities in patient's medical records.
  • Provides education materials and tools to patients and caregivers, establlishing a schedule and continue activities or exercises learned during the individual or group sessions.
  • Educates patients and their support systems on their rights and take their preferences into account to ensure they can participate in the decision-making process throughout their cancer journey.
  • Facilitates workshops or group sessions, in collaboration with the Cancer Support Services Team on special events such as the monthly cancer awareness events, survivorship programs, therapy sessions, and other cancer center special events.
  • Interacts with providers and members of the multidisciplinary team to support patients and caregivers throughout their cancer journey.
  • Reports all patient incdients to Director/AVP as it occurs.
  • All other duties and responsibilities, as assigned.
