Details:
  • Weekday position, 24 hours per week
  • Monday, Wednesday & Friday from 8:00am to 4:30pm
 
JOB SUMMARY:
 
Provides patient care in the outpatient setting and meets the psychosocial, physical, and general aspects of care; meets the communication needs of patient and family; provides care that reflects initiative and responsibility indicative of professional expectations.  Maintains regulatory requirements, clinical and departmental policies, procedures, and standards.  Communicates with physicians and team members about patient’s clinical condition, including results of studies and symptomatology.
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelors in exercise science or related field.
  • ACSM Clinical Exercise Specialist or Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist certification or the equivalent.
  • Demonstrates completion of an ECG monitoring course and/or the challenge exam and the ability to read 12 lead electrocardiograms and rhythm strips.
  • Previous experience in Cardiac Rehab practice preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
  • Has awareness for the need to accept orders and to perform repetitive tasks.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must have adequate perception of sounds or adequate hearing with corrections.
  • Adequate vision, or correctable with glasses/contacts, to prepare reports and read written materials.
  • Able to speak clearly and distinctly with staff, physicians, patients, and families.
  • Demonstrates adequate stamina to deal with stressful situations and to complete the necessary work schedule.
  • Possess fine motor skills and hand/eye coordination to manage office equipment.
