Adjunct Faculty - Department of Health and Exercise Science
Job no: 501712
Work type: Temporary Part-Time
Location: Glassboro, New Jersey

The Department of Health & Exercise Science at Rowan University invites applications for adjunct teaching positions. Courses may be face-to-face and/or online undergraduate and graduate level courses in Athletic Training, Exercise Science, Nutrition & Dietetics, and Public Health related areas. Programs within The Department of Health and Exercise Science can be found here: https://academics.rowan.edu/shp/departments/hes/programs/index.html
Qualified candidates must have previous experience teaching in the above areas or experience related areas. Previous teaching experience at the college level is preferred. An MA or MS degree in a closely related field is required for undergraduate courses. A PhD or other terminal degree is required for any MA/MS course.
The Department of Health and Exercise Science will accept applications throughout the year. When a teaching vacancy occurs, the Department will consider the submitted applications to staff courses.

  • graduate transcripts
  • any other relevant material (including previous teaching and student evaluations)

Positions are dependent on funding and current need; thus, applications will be screened on a rolling basis. Applications will be retained for future need if immediate openings are not available. Note: Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States. The University will not sponsor a visa for this position.
In compliance with The State of New Jersey's Pay Transparency Act, and in accordance with the current MOA, Rowan University adjuncts are provided with a minimum of $2,225 per credit for all courses taught, with a maximum teaching load of 8 credits per semester and 12 credits in an academic year. Courses will be assigned to instructors by College & Department on an as-needed basis.
