Job description

Executive Security Driver - Chicago, IL
This is a part time position
Position Summary:
Provide professional transportation services to select members of ADM's senior management team.  Coordinates and schedules executive management requests for both business and personal transportation needs.  Provide executive protection services as needed and/or supplement executive protection services as directed by the Executive Protection Coordinator.  The Executive Security Driver (ESD) will transport and escort executives and/or visitors as assigned.  In addition to security driving responsibilities, the ESD will provide for low key executive protection in and out of the Global Headquarters office space.  The ESD will work closely with senior executives', administrative assistants regarding itineraries and logistics, and coordination of travel times and destinations will be necessary.
The position will be based in Chicago, Illinois.  Hours of work are flexible to coincide with the transportation and security needs of our executives or guests who require secure transportation service.
Principal Accountabilities
In addition to following ADM's policies and procedures, principle accountabilities include, but are not limited to:
Transportation Services
  • Ensure principal(s) are transported to their destinations in a safe, timely and professional manner.
  • Ensure confidentiality of any conversations, materials or information that is heard and/or observed during the performance of duties.
  • Conduct advance surveys of primary and alternate routes, venues, residences, and other destinations on the principal's schedule. 
  • Perform advance security planning work related to special events and meetings; submit plan to supervisor.
  • Prior to each assignment identify emergency resources and safe havens (i.e. police, hospitals, etc.) choke points, danger zones, and research other hazards including traffic or severe weather concerns and public works.
  • Coordinate protective efforts with the EP Specialist and other EP/security team members and assist them as needed.
  • Provide transportation and close protection at meetings and events that may or may not involve other EP Specialists.
  • Maintain daily log of duties performed and hours worked.
  • Make appropriate arrangements for a standby Executive Driver to fill-in as needed.
  • Perform all administrative activities associated with the scheduling, resource allocation, chargeback and monthly reporting of all executive travel requests.
  • Properly respond to medical emergencies that may occur to passenger(s) en-route.
  • Maintain active First-Aid, AED and CPR certifications.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and dress for day according to executive's working agenda.
  • Maintain a positive relationship with principal(s) their administrative support person(s) and other protective operations stakeholders.
  • Serve as an armed security escort and provide inconspicuous and effective executive protection in vehicle and on foot
  • Ability to handle and prioritize executive's requests vs. other duties.
  • Ability to exchange information, interact with senior level executives and greet visitors.
  • Ability to listen and communicate effectively.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a record of safe driving history.
  • Must be licensed, or have the ability to be licensed, to carry a firearm in the State of Illinois.
  • Must be fully firearms proficient.
  • Must possess exceptional knowledge of the street and transportation networks in and around Chicago.
  • Must demonstrate a clear commitment to safety.
  • A minimum of 5 years work experience in civilian or military law enforcement.
Vehicle Maintenance
  • Keep assigned vehicle(s) clean and in excellent operating condition.
  • Responsible for arranging repairs and/or maintenance to assigned company vehicle(s).
  • Report to Fleet Management and EP Director any damage, repairs completed or maintenance performed on assigned company vehicle(s).
  • Responsible for the fuel content and appropriate tire air pressure of assigned company vehicle(s).
  • Responsible for inspecting and maintenance of the First Aid and AED units.
  • Maintains a log of all inspections, alterations or enhancements performed to the vehicle
  • Drive principal(s) company vehicles as directed and in compliance with ADM's Company Car Operating Policies, State, Federal and Local laws.
  • Adhere to company policy keeping operational proficiency training on: first-aid, AED, paramedicine training.
  • Comply with all previsions outlined in the ADM Drivers Safety Policy.
  • Immediately report to supervisor any suspicious activities directed against the vehicle, principal or self.
  • Proactively communicates critical safety and security-related information to appropriate security leadership in a timely manner:
    • Violation or inconsistency in policy application
    • Death or bodily injury
    • Safety and security issues with potential significant legal and/or media implications
    • Issues of life safety
