Job description

The Town of Sharon is seeking a compassionate, customer-focused part-time (12 hours/week) Receptionist & Program Aide to provide exceptional service to older adults and visitors at the Sharon Adult Center.
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of community members while working in a welcoming, mission-driven environment.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for visitors, participants, and callers.
  • Provide information and referrals regarding programs, services, transportation, and community resources.
  • Register participants for programs, activities, and special events.
  • Assist with transportation scheduling and related administrative tasks.
  • Maintain records, enter data, and perform general clerical duties.
  • Support program setup, special events, and volunteer activities.
  • Help create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all Adult Center participants.

Work Schedule (12 hours/week):
  • Tuesday: 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
  • Wednesday: 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
  • Thursday: 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
  • Friday: 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous administrative, receptionist, customer service, or office experience preferred.
  • Experience working with older adults, volunteers, or in a human services setting is a plus.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and computer skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and provide excellent customer service.
  • Valid Massachusetts Driver's License required.
  • CORI check required.

Starting Salary Range: $23.9871 - $24.4669 per hour with annual increases. This is a non-benefitted position.
