Job description

The Grove seeks to be the most welcoming and hospitable church we can be. As part of our Events Ministry vision, we regularly open the church as a venue for special events to our church family and to the community. The Grove's Event Host position is ideal for someone who is organized, skilled in time management, attentive to detail, and provides excellent hospitality. This role supports the planning and execution of internal and external events, ensuring that every gathering reflects the love of Jesus and the heart of the church.
Reports to: Hub Ministry Director
Works with: Events Team, Hospitality Ministry, Ministry Support, Internal Ministries, Volunteers, Church Families, Guests
Works: Part time, Hourly (Varied Hours Based on Event Schedule)
EVENT SET UP, EXECUTION, AND CLEAN UP - 70%
  • Review all Event Sheet details to prepare supplies, room, and catering tables.
  • Ensure familiarity with and adherence to The Grove's Event Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Assist with light food and beverage preparation as needed.
  • Provide direction and support to event staff and volunteers.
  • Oversee event timeline and coordinate with kitchen staff, vendor(s), and ministry leads to ensure smooth execution.
  • Clean and reset event spaces following the conclusion of each event.
HOSPITALITY AND GUEST EXPERIENCE - 20%
  • Serve as primary point of contact and representative of The Grove during events.
  • Ensure all guests and event organizers are following church policies and guidelines.
  • Represent and embody The Grove's Core Values through warm hospitality, a servant-hearted attitude, and excellence in customer service, Biblical truth, Outreach, Relationship-building, and Teamwork.
OTHER - 10%
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness in event storage areas.
  • Attend Event team meetings, church all-staff meetings, devotions and trainings.
