Job description

Position Summary:
The Student Activities Assistant supports the Student Activities Coordinator in planning, promoting, and executing a wide variety of campus events, student engagement initiatives, and leadership programs. This position plays an essential role in creating a welcoming, inclusive, and engaging campus environment while providing administrative, operational, and event support. This position requires flexibility, strong organizational skills, excellent customer service, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Evening and weekend work is required as needed to support campus events and activities
Position responsibilities:

Game Room Operations (Daily Oversight):Help oversee daily operations of the Game Room and ensure a welcoming, inclusive environment for students. Provide excellent customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors and represent the Office of Student Activities professionally and positively.
Administrative Support:Perform general administrative tasks such as answering phones, responding to emails, filing, data entry, and maintaining departmental records and supply inventory. Maintain and update event calendars, reservations, schedules, and planning documents; ensure event spaces are properly prepared before and after each event. Process requisitions, purchase requests, invoices, and related purchasing documentation; assist with budgeting, tracking expenditures, and maintaining accurate financial records.
Event & Program Support:Assist the Student Activities Coordinator with planning, coordinating, setting up, executing, and breaking down campus events, student engagement initiatives, and leadership programs. Support marketing and outreach for events and initiatives using flyers, social media, email communications, digital signage, and other promotional channels. Assist with collecting participation data, attendance records, and event assessments/evaluations. Coordinate with campus departments, vendors, and community partners regarding event needs, services, and logistics.
  • Maintain confidentiality when handling student information and sensitive departmental matters.

  • Perform other responsibilities as needed to support the mission of Student Activities and Student Engagement.

  • Read and respond to all College email communications in a timely manner
