Part Time Event Manager information

What is a part time event manager?

Part time event managers are professionals who coordinate and oversee events on a part-time basis, rather than working full-time hours. They are responsible for planning, organizing, and executing events such as conferences, weddings, corporate functions, or community gatherings. Their tasks often include managing budgets, coordinating with vendors, arranging logistics, and ensuring that the event runs smoothly. Working part-time allows them flexibility, which can be ideal for balancing other commitments or pursuing multiple projects. Despite working fewer hours, part time event managers are expected to deliver the same level of professionalism and attention to detail as their full-time counterparts.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a part time event manager?

To thrive as a Part Time Event Manager, you need strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and experience in event planning, often supported by a relevant degree or prior event management experience. Familiarity with event management software, budgeting tools, and basic marketing platforms is typically required. Exceptional communication, problem-solving abilities, and flexibility help you stand out in managing diverse stakeholders and handling last-minute changes. These skills ensure smooth event execution, satisfied clients, and the ability to adapt efficiently in a dynamic, time-sensitive environment.

What are some common challenges faced by part time event managers, and how can they be effectively addressed?

Part-time event managers often juggle multiple responsibilities within limited hours, which can make time management and prioritization challenging. They may also need to quickly adapt to changing event requirements while coordinating with full-time staff, vendors, and clients. To address these challenges, strong organizational skills, clear communication, and the use of event management tools are essential. Building strong relationships with team members and being proactive in identifying and resolving potential issues can also contribute to smoother event execution.

As a Senior Beauty Specialist, you will bring the energy, the passion, and the know-how to coach a team of Boots Beauty Specialists to create personalised experiences for every customer who visit our Beauty Halls.
What you'll be doing
Reporting to the Beauty Assistant Manager, you'll work across many premium beauty brands, guiding your team to offer expert, unbiased advice that helps customers find products that genuinely work for them across skincare, makeup and haircare.
This is a sales-based role, but it's all about team success, not individual competition. You'll energise your crew to meet shared goals and celebrate wins together - and with up to 2000 annual product allowance*, you'll get to personally test premium products.
You will:

  • Work across all premium and luxury brands, offering unbiased recommendations
  • Lead by example, coaching and inspiring your team to bring fun, energy and passion to everything they do
  • Drive collaboration across your team to meet sales targets, it's a group effort (no commission pressure here!)
  • Use your product allowance to test and recommend your favourite finds
  • Create standout experiences through confident customer conversations
  • Bring new product and brand launches to life, creating buzz and excitement across the store
  • Keep the beauty hall and counters stocked and spotless
  • Attend brand training, immersive learning events and our famous virtual and in-person conferences
  • Get involved in social content, events and campaigns

What you'll need to have (our must-haves)

  • A real passion for beauty, skincare, haircare and helping people feel their best
  • Proven experience leading a team to success
  • A warm, confident approach to starting conversations with customers
  • Experience meeting and exceeding sales goals and influencing others to do the same
  • Strong communication skills and an ability to understand people's needs
  • Curiosity and a proactive attitude to learning new techniques and products

It would be great if you also have

  • Experience working in beauty retail or target-based roles
  • An interest in creating social content

Where your brilliance can take you
There are endless possibilities here at Boots. Whether you're ready to grow into a Beauty Assistant Manager role, step into store leadership, join our talented beauty training crew or explore opportunities in our Nottingham-based Support Office, the possibilities are wide open. Wherever you want to go, we'll support you every step of the way to build a brilliant career you're proud of.
Rewards designed for you

  • Quarterly product allowance totalling up to 2000 per year* (*subject to number of hours worked per week.)
  • Generous employee discount across Boots and our partner brands
  • Ongoing expert training from leading beauty brands and experts
  • Boots Retirement Savings Plan
  • Discretionary annual bonus
  • Enhanced maternity/paternity/adoption leave pay, and a gift card for those expecting or adopting
  • Flexible benefits scheme; holiday buying, gym discounts, life assurance and more
  • 24/7 counselling and wellbeing support through TELUS Health, our Employee Assistance Programme
