Job description

Position Summary

Kauaʻi Precision Cleaning is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented School Custodian to join our evening custodial team. This position is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, safe, and professional learning environment for students, faculty, and staff.

This is an onsite, part-time evening position requiring consistent attendance Monday through Friday between 5:30 PM and 9:00 PM. Applicants must live on Kaua’i, be reliable, self-motivated, able to work independently, and committed to maintaining exceptional cleaning standards every shift.

Because this position serves an educational facility, all applicants must successfully complete required background screening before beginning employment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clean and sanitize classrooms, offices, restrooms, hallways, common areas, and staff spaces according to company checklists and quality standards.

  • Vacuum, sweep, mop, dust, disinfect, and restock assigned areas.

  • Clean desks, tables, counters, glass, doors, drinking fountains, and other high-touch surfaces.

  • Empty trash and recycling containers and replace liners.

  • Lock and secure assigned areas as required.

  • Complete nightly custodial services within scheduled service timeframes while maintaining Kauaʻi Precision Cleaning quality standards.

  • Report maintenance concerns, damages, safety hazards, missing items, or supply shortages promptly.

  • Submit required room photos after each assigned area is completed.

  • Complete required digital checklists and provide shift updates through company-approved applications.

  • Maintain the custodial supply closet in a clean, organized, and inspection-ready condition at all times.

  • Submit end-of-shift photos showing the supply closet, vacuum cleanliness, and proper equipment placement.

  • Maintain company cleaning equipment and supplies in a clean, organized, and serviceable condition.

  • Follow all company safety procedures and proper handling requirements for cleaning chemicals and equipment.

Required Qualifications
  • Must successfully pass all required criminal background clearances and screening requirements before working in an educational facility.

  • Must be available to work every Monday through Friday between 5:30 PM and 9:00 PM.

  • Ability to balance efficiency with exceptional attention to detail while consistently meeting company quality standards and scheduled service windows.

  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to cleanliness, organization, and consistent quality.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to communicate professionally with supervisors and accurately document maintenance concerns, safety hazards, and property conditions.

  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, digital cleaning checklists, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), safety requirements, and company policies.

  • Ability to accurately complete required digital documentation, including room photos, inspection photos, and end-of-shift equipment and supply closet photos.

  • Smartphone capable of running company applications, taking and uploading photos, and completing digital checklists.

  • Reliable internet or cellular data service sufficient to receive schedules, complete digital checklists, communicate with supervisors, and upload required documentation during each shift.

  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, dependable attendance, and the ability to report to the assigned worksite on time each evening.

  • Ability to perform the essential physical duties of the position, including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, climbing stairs, lifting and carrying up to 40 pounds, and performing repetitive cleaning tasks throughout the shift.

  • Ability to safely use cleaning chemicals, custodial equipment, and cleaning tools.

  • Basic knowledge of cleaning methods and a willingness to learn Kauaʻi Precision Cleaning's custodial systems, sanitation procedures, and equipment.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous custodial, janitorial, school, commercial, healthcare, or institutional cleaning experience.

  • Experience working in educational facilities or other secure environments.

  • Experience following detailed cleaning checklists and quality inspection procedures.

  • Strong time-management and organizational skills.

  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities while maintaining consistent quality.
