How much do part time er tech jobs pay per hour?

As of Jun 14, 2026, the average hourly pay for part time er tech in Utah is $19.57, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $15.77 and $22.31 per hour, depending on experience, location, and employer.

How many hours does an ER tech work?

An ER tech typically works between 24 and 36 hours per week in shifts that can include days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Many positions are part-time, with schedules varying based on hospital needs and staffing requirements, often involving 8- to 12-hour shifts.

What job makes $10,000 a month without a degree?

A part-time ER technician typically does not earn $10,000 a month; such high earnings usually require full-time work, specialized skills, or certifications. Some high-paying roles in healthcare, sales, or skilled trades can reach that level without a degree, but they often demand experience, licensing, or specific training. Most jobs paying $10,000 monthly without a degree are rare and often involve entrepreneurship or commission-based sales.

What are part-time ER techs?

Part-time ER techs, or Emergency Room Technicians, are healthcare professionals who assist doctors and nurses in emergency departments on a part-time basis. Their duties often include taking vital signs, performing basic medical procedures, assisting with patient care, and helping maintain a clean and organized environment. They play a crucial role in ensuring patients receive timely care, especially during busy shifts. Part-time ER techs typically work flexible hours, which may include nights, weekends, or holidays depending on the needs of the hospital.

What jobs pay 2000 a day?

Jobs like specialized medical professionals, such as ER technicians working in high-demand environments, typically do not pay $2000 a day. High daily earnings are more common in roles like surgeons, anesthesiologists, or certain executive positions that require advanced skills, certifications, and experience. Most healthcare support roles, including part-time ER techs, earn significantly less per day.

What is the difference between Part Time Er Tech vs Emergency Medical Technician?

AspectPart Time Er TechEmergency Medical Technician
CertificationsCPR, EMT-B, hospital-specific trainingEMT-B or higher certification, state licensure
Work EnvironmentHospital emergency departments, urgent careAmbulances, pre-hospital emergency scenes
Employer & IndustryHospitals, healthcare facilitiesEMS agencies, ambulance services

Part Time Er Techs assist in hospital emergency departments, focusing on patient care and support roles, often with certifications like CPR and EMT-B. Emergency Medical Technicians work primarily in pre-hospital settings, providing emergency care during transport with EMT certification. While both roles require emergency medical training, Er Techs are hospital-based, whereas EMTs operate mainly in the field.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Part Time ER Tech, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Part Time ER Tech, you need a solid understanding of emergency medical procedures, patient care, and typically a certification such as EMT or CNA. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems, medical equipment, and basic life support (BLS) protocols is often required. Strong communication, teamwork, and the ability to remain calm under pressure are crucial soft skills in this role. These skills and qualifications are vital for delivering efficient, safe, and compassionate care in a fast-paced emergency room environment.

What are the most common challenges faced by Part Time ER Techs, and how can they effectively manage them?

Part Time ER Techs often face challenges such as adapting quickly to fast-paced and unpredictable situations, balancing multiple urgent tasks, and ensuring seamless communication within a diverse medical team. Working part time can add complexity due to varying shifts and less time to build familiarity with protocols or team members. To manage these challenges, it's important to remain adaptable, proactively seek feedback and clarification, and maintain strong communication with nurses, physicians, and other ER staff. Staying organized and keeping up-to-date with department procedures will also help Part Time ER Techs perform confidently and effectively.

Can you be an ER tech with no experience?

Becoming an ER tech typically requires some healthcare training or certification, but entry-level positions may be available to those without prior experience if they complete required training programs. Employers often look for strong communication skills, the ability to work in fast-paced environments, and a willingness to learn on the job. Certification as a Nursing Assistant or Emergency Medical Technician can improve job prospects.
