Salary:$17.75/Hour Minimum
Per Teamsters Contract

Report Times:6:00am to 2:30pm
Daily Hours: 8.5 (8 Paid)
Work Year: 12 months
Supervisor:Director of Facility Operations
Civil Service Title:Maintenance Mechanic III
Minimum Requirements:
EITHER:
(A) Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma, plus six (6) months of paid full-time or its part-time equivalent work experience in one (1) or more of the electrical, mechanical, or construction trades; OR,
(B) Graduation from a technical high school or trade school with a major in the electrical, mechanical or construction trades.
NOTE: Additional experience may be substituted for the high school diploma on a year-for-year basis.
Desired Qualifications:
Good knowledge of common practices, tools, terminology and safety precautions of construction, mechanical and facility maintenance trades;
Ability to work from plans, specifications, drawings and rough sketches;
Ability to follow oral and written instructions;
Ability to work with others;
Good hand and eye coordination.
Position Summary/Responsibilities:
Serve as a General Handyman performing a variety of semi-skilled duties and assists a skilled worker in the trade of plumbing;
Operates vehicles, powered or motorized equipment;
Work with other Trades/Groups as assigned;
Helps to install and repair general plumbing equipment (sinks, toilets, eyewash, showers, lift stations..);
Assist in metal and carpentry fabrication, repairs and re-finishing;
Assist in cleaning and repairing mechanical equipment ( pipe lines, valves and traps...);
Assist with repairs to municipal water and/or sewage systems and lift stations;
Assist in performing general grounds maintenance work (grading and seeding, mowing, and snow and ice removal...);
Other duties as assigned.
