Shift: PT Days (24hrs) - Days 7a-7p
Department Overview:
The 3 West Ortho/Trauma unit at Sentara Virginia Beach General specializes in providing expert care for patients with musculoskeletal injuries and related complications. Our unit is comprised of 24 in-patient beds. Our patient population includes admissions from the Ortho Joint, Spine, Fracture, and Ortho/Trauma centers, as well as medical/surgical patients. The nursing unit enjoys a supportive team environment including resources such as a unt-based nurse educator, orthopedic navigator, respiratory therapy, PT/OT, nursing care partners, unit coordinators, charge nurse and manager. The unit has an active Unit-Based Partnership Council and participates in many hospital-wide Nurse led Councils.

The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.

  • Virginia or compact multistate RN (Registered Nurse) license in good standing
