Department: Arts, Sciences, and Business
Salary Range: $15.30-$17.00 per hour
Immediate Supervisor: Physical Science Department Chair
Schedule Details: Part-time (not to exceed 19.5 hours per week)
Position Summary
The part-time Physical Science Lab Coordinator works in support of the physical science department, assisting with lab set up and coordinating lab schedules for all the physical science labs.
Essential Job Duties
  • Coordinate weekly laboratory sessions for the Physical Science Department.

  • Prepare lab materials and setups independently or in collaboration with work-study students.

  • Maintain and organize laboratory spaces, ensuring they are clean, stocked, and ready for instruction.

  • Operate, maintain, and support laboratory equipment and related technologies.

  • Manage the ordering, receiving, inventory, and storage of lab supplies and equipment.

  • Ensure proper care, calibration, maintenance, and safety of all departmental materials and instruments.

  • Communicate effectively with faculty regarding equipment, chemicals, and lab organization.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Academic background in a science related field (including various high school and college coursework).

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Ability to work well with others.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Maintain a dependable work schedule and uphold professional standards of punctuality and attendance.

  • Ability to use information technology for professional productivity (such as Microsoft Office Suite).
