Casual restaurants hire inexperienced cashiers, servers, and hostesses, but expect them to watch and learn from veteran employees. Grocery stores and retailers often staff their stores with entry-level baggers, cashiers, and re-stocking employees. Construction and general laborers typically learn on the job. These part-time jobs are schedules for thirty hours or less each week. Many part-time entry-level jobs are ideal for high school or college students who need extra income and have a flexible schedule, though some take part-time entry-level jobs in hopes that it leads to a full-time position.
