Description
Position Summary:
The Physical Security Engineer will work closely with the Senior Physical Security Engineers, Foremen, Team Leads and other members of the Physical Security and Cabling teams to install and implement door access, video surveillance, intercoms, etc. This position will work to build a customer-focused relationship with clients, to identify business challenges and develop specifications and requirements to arrive at the best solution. This position will also be expected to maintain a high standard of quality and always provide a positive customer experience.
Roles and Responsibilities/ Essential Functions:
  • Pulling and installing new Cat 5E/ Cat 6 cable.
  • Pulling and installing new composite cable for door access
  • Climbing up and down ladders at varies heights.
  • Installing cable pathways and raceways.
  • Be able to use basic hand tools and power tools.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, including utilizing proper PPE, safe use of tools and machinery, and always adhering to safety standards and regulations.
  • Install proper cable sleeves and chases.
  • Take direction from Lead Technician.
  • Learn basics between different types of cabling.
  • Terminate Cat 5E/ Cat 6 cable properly.
  • Installing door access hardware (card readers, REX, strikes, door contacts)
  • Wiring and installing door access panels
  • Mounting and aiming surveillance cameras
  • Work as a member of the HBS Physical Security Team that provides consultative and proactive project management support to HBS's account base.
  • Attend and participate in weekly team calls as directed by the Team Lead.
  • Ability to work in a team atmosphere as both a leader and contributor as assigned. At all times maintaining a professional and respectful demeanor.
  • Minimum of 1,450 hours billed per fiscal year prorated based on start date. These charge hour requirements will be balanced against professional development and on the job training

Required Experience:
  • 1 years related experience (Low Voltage Cabling, Construction and/or Electrical Field experience)
  • Experience with Video Surveillance systems and associated hardware/software
  • IT experience in networking and Windows highly preferred
  • Experience with basic hand and power tools
  • Team oriented and knowledge contributor
  • Ability to prioritize requirements and meet deadlines

Preferred Experience:
  • 2+ years related experience (Low Voltage Cabling, Construction and/or Electrical Field experience)
  • Experience with Access Control systems and associated hardware/software
  • Experience participating in and leading projects

Required Skills, Education and/ or Certifications required:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Verkada VCE Certificate (or the ability to obtain within the first 12 months of employment)
  • Valid Driver's License

Preferred Skills, Education and/ or Certifications required:
  • Associate's Degree or higher
  • Wisenet Certified Professional
  • BICSI Installer 1
  • Axis Certified Professional
  • Open Options DNA Fusion certification
  • AMAG Symmetry Associate certification
