Description
Are you a college student in Central Florida looking to gain meaningful, hands-on experience in strategy, project coordination, business systems and data-driven decision making?
Publix is offering a six-month (with potential to extend to one year), part-time opportunity within the Strategy Support department. As an extension of the CEO's office, the Strategy Support department helps Publix leadership translate strategic priorities into actionable plans, measurable results and successful outcomes across the company. The team partners with leaders across multiple business areas to support strategy execution, performance reporting, project coordination and continuous improvement initiatives.
This position is designed to provide practical experience supporting real business initiatives while developing professional skills that directly apply to future careers in business, project management, analytics, consulting, operations and technology. You will work alongside experienced strategy professionals while contributing to strategic projects, business systems, executive reporting and operational support activities.
This role is a strong fit for students who are analytical, organized, detail-oriented and interested in understanding how a Fortune 100 company develops strategy, manages projects and drives performance improvement. You will gain exposure to project coordination, business analysis, process improvement, reporting, dashboard development and Microsoft Power Platform technologies.
Please note, this is a part-time position that requires onsite work. Additional details will be discussed if selected for an interview.
What you'll do
  • support the coordination and execution of strategic initiatives, departmental projects and continuous improvement efforts
  • assist in maintaining and enhancing internal business applications, reporting solutions and workflows using Microsoft Power Platform technologies
  • perform testing, validation and documentation activities for business systems, application enhancements and reporting solutions
  • support executive and departmental reporting through data validation, quality assurance and preparation of leadership-ready materials
  • build, update and maintain dashboards, reports and visualizations that support performance monitoring and decision making
  • conduct research, gather information and assist with business analysis activities to support strategic initiatives and operational decision making
  • coordinate meetings, prepare agendas, document outcomes and track action items to support project governance and team effectiveness
  • assist with departmental operations, communications, documentation and event coordination activities
  • collaborate with associates and leaders across multiple business areas to support strategy execution and organizational goals.
  • identify opportunities to improve processes, reporting and user experiences through observation, analysis and stakeholder feedback

Year End Bonus
To reward associates for their contributions to the company for the calendar year, Publix provides a Holiday Bonus in November. The bonus for this position is 8 hours of pay when a new associate joins Publix prior to July 1. There is no bonus in the first year for associates hired after July 1. In subsequent years, the bonus is equal to 8 hours' pay if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check.
Required Qualifications
  • must be actively enrolled in a bachelor's or graduate degree in Business, Engineering, Analytics, Information Systems or a related field through the duration of the position
  • Junior standing or above
  • ability to work at least 20 hours per week and a minimum of three days per week onsite
  • working knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • demonstrated initiative and willingness to learn new business processes, systems and technologies
  • effective written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications
  • minimum 3.5 GPA
  • experience with Microsoft Power Platform including Power Apps, Power Automate or Power BI
  • experience building dashboards, reports or data visualizations.
  • experience coordinating projects, leading student organizations or managing multiple workstreams simultaneously
  • familiarity with business process improvement, systems testing or quality assurance activities
  • ability to work independently while collaborating effectively as part of a team
