Job description

Nestled on 405 lush acres along the Lower Colorado River, just 20 minutes from Austin, Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort & Spa offers a unique blend of Texas charm and modern luxury. We are in search of a hands-on problem solver with a passion for maintaining beautiful spaces to join our Engineering team as General Maintenance Engineer B.

The General Maintenance Engineer B is responsible for maintaining the overall functionality and appearance of the resort. This role involves performing routine maintenance tasks, addressing emergency repairs, and ensuring that all equipment and facilities are in optimal working condition. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various maintenance disciplines, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry.

Open availability to work weekends and holidays and flexiblity to work AM or PM shifts is required for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine inspections of premises and equipment to identify and address maintenance needs.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Handle guest calls, emergency repairs and unscheduled maintenance tasks as needed.
  • Repair and maintain HVAC systems, kitchen equipment, laundry equipment, and other mechanical systems.
  • Perform minor carpentry, painting, and wall covering repairs.
  • Ensure the security and proper use of maintenance tools, supplies, and equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and update logs as required.
  • Monitor and maintain the efficiency of equipment and electrical systems, including air conditioning controls, guest entrance/access doors, and lighting systems.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely and effective resolution of maintenance issues.
  • Follow all safety protocols and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in general maintenance or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to perform minor carpentry, painting, and wall covering repairs.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects and perform physical tasks as required.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
