Right now we are looking for a Registered Practical Nurse to work with our Surgical Inpatient Unit 11 East & West

8 or 12 hour rotating shifts on weekdays, evenings, nights and/or weekends - subject to change as per Article 3 – Management Rights.

Position Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for Registered Practical Nurse duties in on the Surgical Inpatient Unit. 

Qualifications:

  • Graduate from a recognized Registered Practical Nursing two year diploma program.
  • Current Registered Practical Nurse registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Current BCLS certification.
  • Experience with patient health teaching.
  • Demonstrated competency in a variety of skills including (but not limited to), intramuscular injections, intravenous therapy initiation and discontinuation, Blood Transfusion, Wound Care Dressing, Medication Administration, etc.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in assessment and management of patients with continuous peripheral nerve block (CPNB) and patient controlled analgesia (PCA)
  • Minimum 1 year acute surgical experience, preferred.
  • Basic computer skills and Meditech experience is an asset.
  • Knowledge of community resources.
  • Excellent attendance and discipline free record required.
