Job description

The Engineering Department on the Manhattan campus is seeking a part time Stationary Engineer to join our team! The work schedule is 4 pm to 12 am , 2 days per week.
Job Summary:
Performs the duties necessary to operate and maintain boilers, chillers and other auxiliary equipment necessary for producing steam for heating, cooling and power for the entire building.
  • Performs periodic inspection of mechanical rooms to ensure proper operation of heat, air conditioning, and ventilation systems.
  • Check pressure/temperature gauges.
  • Assist in maintaining HVAC controls.
  • Perform corrective, routine and requisitioned repairs of electrical, mechanical and plumbing. systems.
  • Perform diversified duties as assigned.

Skills & Requirements
Qualifications:
  • Stationary Engineer license or certification required
  • FDNY Engineers certificate Q1/Q99
  • Stand Pipe and Sprinkler certificate of Fitness (S12, S13)
  • Must have EPA certification for universal handling of refrigerants
  • Refrigeration license by FDNY
  • Must very good knowledge of water circulation for heating/cooling, pumps, boilers, fire alarm, cooling towers, chemical treatment, domestic water, etc.
  • Must have basic plumbing, handyman repairs, electric issues knowledge.
  • Certificate of fitness for boiler sprinkler standpipe pump, air compressor and piped oxygen
