Familiarity with industry-standard design software (such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks), data analysis tools, and sometimes certifications like EIT or FE are typically beneficial. These competencies ensure you can contribute meaningful results and maintain productivity within a flexible or reduced schedule.

Adopting these practices can help part-time engineers stay engaged and ensure their contributions align with overall project goals.
