Job Description:

L3Harris is seeking a part-time Engineering Aide to support the Electrical Engineering team in the development and maintenance of engineering documentation for flight hardware and associated support equipment. This role will assist engineers with electrical drawings, with particular emphasis on cable assemblies, wiring, and system interconnects. The Engineering Aide will also provide support for engineering documentation, component library maintenance, engineering change request evaluations, and production-related coordination activities. This position is located in Orlando, FL.

Essential Functions:

  • Support the Electrical Engineering team in the creation, update, and maintenance of engineering drawings and documentation, with emphasis on cable designs, wiring documentation, and system interconnect diagrams for flight hardware and associated support equipment.
  • Assist with management and maintenance of electrical component and symbol libraries used in engineering design tools and documentation systems.
  • Support the evaluation, documentation, and tracking of engineering change requests and related updates to technical data packages.
  • Assist production teams with inventory review, bill of material (BOM) tracking, and coordination of drawing and documentation updates needed to support manufacturing activities.
  • Serve as a reviewer for engineering analyses, drawings, and related technical documentation to help ensure completeness, consistency, and adherence to established processes and standards.
  • Provide general engineering support across the product development lifecycle, including documentation updates, data organization, and coordination with cross-functional team members as needed.

Qualifications:

Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent with 0 to 3 years of prior related Electrical Engineering experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Basic understanding of electrical drawings, schematics, cable assemblies, wiring documentation, or system interconnect diagrams gained through coursework, projects, or other technical experience.
  • Familiarity with electrical or electronic components and an interest in learning engineering documentation and design processes.
  • Exposure to CAD tools, electrical drawing tools, or other technical software through academic coursework, lab work, or personal projects.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to organize technical information such as parts, components, symbols, and engineering records.
  • Ability to review technical documentation for completeness, consistency, and accuracy with guidance from engineering staff.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills and ability to work effectively with engineering, manufacturing, and cross-functional teams.
  • Interest in supporting bill of material (BOM) tracking, inventory-related activities, and production support tasks.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, manage multiple assignments, and contribute in a team environment.
