Description
Applications for Part-Time, Adjunct Instructor pools are continually accepted (unless otherwise specified) by the District. They will be added to the application pool for review by hiring authorities on an as-needed basis. Should you be invited for an interview, you will be contacted by a District representative.
Southwestern College is looking to hire a local part-time instructor to teach the following Engineering courses:
  • Engineering major lectures
  • Engineering Circuits Lab

Please specify which course(s) you would be comfortable teaching in the application or cover letter.
Classes are offered at multiple campuses and in various modalities (face-to-face, hybrid, and online).
If a course is offered online, completion of a 5-week Distance Education Faculty Training (DEFT) certification will be required prior to staffing (compensation available); or proof of a district approved Distance Education training course may be accepted in lieu of DEFT. Qualifications
Master's in any field of engineering OR Bachelor's in any of the above AND Master's in mathematics, physics, computer science, chemistry or geology OR the equivalent.
(NOTE: A bachelor's in any field of engineering with a professional engineer's license is an alternative qualification for this discipline)
Additional assessment is required for applicants with foreign degrees from colleges or universities outside of the United States. Applicants must have their coursework evaluated by a professional association that is a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services () and must submit a copy of the evaluation with the application.
