Job description

Job Opportunity: Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgeon

Our organization is in search of a full-time, fellowship-trained Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgeon to join the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. This role will play a vital part in the ongoing development of our Complex Benign Gynecology Program. The ideal candidate will become part of a growing regional referral practice that emphasizes advanced benign gynecologic conditions, minimally invasive surgical techniques, multidisciplinary care, education, and academic growth.

About the Department

We are a comprehensive tertiary care department that includes:

  • 35 full-time and part-time physicians
  • 17 advanced practice providers
  • 2 full-time genetic counselors
  • 24 residents and 7 fellows
  • Over 2,500 deliveries annually
  • Annual outpatient clinic volume exceeding 18,000 visits
  • More than 2,000 surgical generalist cases and over 250 family planning procedures each year

Our patient demographic includes individuals with complex co-morbidities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct specialized evaluations and long-term management for patients with complex benign gynecologic issues, such as endometriosis, adenomyosis, chronic pelvic pain, and intricate fibroids.
  • Perform advanced minimally invasive gynecologic surgeries, including complex laparoscopic and robotic procedures, focusing on personalized, evidence-based surgical approaches for complex benign conditions.
  • Engage in and help enhance multidisciplinary care pathways for patients with complex pelvic diseases, collaborating with specialists in gynecologic imaging, urology, colorectal surgery, gynecologic oncology, and other relevant fields.
  • Provide both inpatient and outpatient care within the complex benign gynecology practice and participate in necessary subspecialty clinical coverage.
  • Educate and mentor medical students and residents, particularly in operative techniques related to minimally invasive and advanced benign gynecologic surgery.
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, outcomes measurement, research, and scholarly activities.
  • Support the ongoing development of our Complex Benign Gynecology Program.
Qualifications
  • MD/DO degree from an accredited medical institution and eligibility for a New York Medical License.
  • Completion of a Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery (MIGS) fellowship.
  • Board certified or board eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
