Job description

Preschool Instructional Assistant Part-Time

JOB GOAL
Responsible for providing quality childcare and instruction in a day care setting and adhering to ADHS codes and statutes.
QUALIFICATIONS



  • High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (G.E.D.)
  • Valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint card
  • TB test, First Aid/CPR, and Food Handlers Card (some items can be obtained after hire)

 
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides care and instruction to promote academic and social/emotion growth
  • Monitors children's behavior and safety inside and outside of the classroom
  • Assists with clean-up and other related tasks following daily activates
  • Prepares classroom for activities, including creating lessons and preparing materials
  • Creates bulletin boards, maintains materials and supplies, contacts parents and may make copies
  • May attend in-service training sessions
  • Performs other duties of a similar nature or level

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Knowledge of applicable Federal, state, county and city statutes, rules, regulations, policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of applicable Cartwright School District and departmental policies and procedures
  • Early Childhood Development
  • Monitoring and assisting children with activities
  • Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the public, sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction

REPORTS TO: Site Administrator
LOCATION: Cartwright Early Childhood Center
SUPERVISES: NA
CALENDAR: 10 month non benefitted
POSITION HOURS: As approved by Governing Board
JOB CATEGORY: Classified
BEGINNING SALARY: ESP Salary Schedule A; As approved by the Governing Board
BENEFITS: As approved by the Governing Board
FSLA Status: Non-Exempt
